Responsibilities
- Support Alcor’s Legal Team in providing legal assistance to Alcor entities and R&D centers of technology companies in Colombia and across the LATAM region.
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries on legislation and case law in Colombia and relevant LATAM jurisdictions.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and organizing contracts, including service agreements, NDAs, data protection documents, and IP transfer clauses.
- Help maintain and improve company policies, templates, and internal guidelines for compliance and corporate governance.
- Contribute, alongside internal team members and external advisers, to projects involving the establishment and maintenance of R&D offices for foreign technology companies entering the LATAM market (e.g., coordinating vendors, supporting local registrations, and assisting with the implementation of client-specific policies).
- Support the ongoing legal and corporate compliance of Alcor’s Colombian entity through document review, process alignment, and coordination with internal stakeholders and local advisers.
What Is Important for Us?
- 1–4 years of experience in tax, labor, corporate, or commercial law (internship or paralegal experience in international or IT-related environments is an advantage).
- Upper-intermediate (B2) level of English or higher, both spoken and written.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Derecho).
- Eligible to practice law in Colombia (tarjeta profesional, or in progress).
- Solid understanding of Colombian commercial, corporate and tax law, plus basic familiarity with either labor, intellectual property, or data protection law.
- Experience with contracts, legal research, corporate support, or compliance processes.
- Interest in the technology sector; staying current on legal trends and best practices.
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Proactive, responsible, and client-oriented mindset.
Will Be a Plus
- Internship or paralegal experience in international or IT-related environments.
- Experience with technology companies, international clients, outsourcing models, foreign-owned businesses, or cross-border operations.
- General knowledge of Colombian taxation and concepts related to foreign economic activity (e.g., double-taxation treaties, outsourcing in Colombia).
