We founded Wayve in 2017 in Cambridge and now build from London, with teams in the US, Canada, Germany, and Japan. Our mission is simple yet ambitious: reimagine autonomous mobility with Embodied AI – foundation models that learn to drive in the real world – so that assisted and automated driving becomes safer, smarter, and accessible to everyone.
We’re turning that vision into results. In 2024, we raised $1.05 billion to scale our AI platform, with backing from SoftBank, NVIDIA, and Microsoft. In 2025, Nissan chose our AI Driver for next-gen ProPILOT (launches from FY2027). And our AI-500 roadshow took one model through 90 cities – no retraining.
At Wayve, big problems ignite us, and we back each other to deliver impact. Our European expansion accelerates the rollout of a single AI Driver. Your work will help us turn messy road data into dependable assistance that grows into autonomy. Train foundation models, optimize latency, or harden safety – your code moves from notebook to production fast.
The Wayve Team
Your road to Wayve
We know interviews can feel like rush hour. Hiring is a two-way street – we want you to feel as confident about us as we are about you. That’s why our process is clear and to the point:
- HR interview – held by our partner Alcor to understand your background, soft skills, and culture fit, and to answer your first questions.
- Technical interview #1 – with Paul Thompson (Technical Lead): a dive into your tech competency and hands-on skills, focusing on how you think, address challenges, and make decisions in real time.
- Technical interview #2 – with Yuzhe Wu and Deval Shah: a broader engineering discussion, where you can learn more about our product and show your approach to solving open-ended technical issues.
- Final interview – with Michael Kamprath (Director of Engineering Productivity & Platforms): discussion on how your skills, ideas, and goals align with our mission.
We keep communication open at every step so you know what’s next.
Fuel for your journey
Great engineering needs focus – and room to breathe. We’ve shaped our benefits to remove friction, support your growth, and keep you well for the long road:
- Competitive salary & equity – meaningful ownership with regular reviews.
- Agile work environment – minimal bureaucracy, with a focus on software delivery.
- Collaboration with AI model developers – exposure to advanced machine learning systems in the automotive space.
- Learning & development – dedicated budget for courses, books, and conferences.
- Paid time off – generous PTO plus public holidays.
- Private healthcare – comprehensive insurance & mental health support.
We celebrate diversity and progress, respect life outside work, and back your ambitions – on and off the road.
Make safety real
If you want to build things that touch the real world, Wayve is your pick! Here’s what you’d be part of – and why it matters:
- AI Driver – a mapless, hardware-agnostic platform that upgrades via OTA as the core model improves, scaling from L2+ assist toward L4 autonomy.
- Proven generalization + richer sim – our AI-500 roadshow drove 90 cities in 90 days with no retraining, and our latest generative world model for autonomy, GAIA-2, generates controllable, safety-critical scenarios to stress-test learning.
- Explainable driving – LINGO-2, the first vision-language-action model tested on public roads – outputs both actions and natural language reasoning.
- Future-ready hardware – designed to run on NVIDIA DRIVE Orin and next-gen Thor-class platforms.
You’ll help train and evaluate these models, harden safety and sim, and optimize on-vehicle latency – then see your work shipped via OTA and into OEM programs on real streets. Bring your craft; we’ll bring the fleet, data, and runway to scale.
