Operations Engineer Data & Database Focus

Responsibilities

• Maintain the reliability, performance, and scalability of core services
• Administer, optimize, and troubleshoot database systems (SQL)
• Respond to production incidents and participate in the on-call rotation
• Automate operational workflows and build internal tools to reduce manual intervention
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve CI/CD and operational practices
• Contribute to improvements in infrastructure efficiency and service resilience

Required Skills

• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Proficiency in database performance tuning, backup/restore, and replication
• Strong scripting or programming skills (Python, Go, Bash, etc.)
• Knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools
• Understanding of observability tools and principles (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  We are now looking to add another engineer to our Operations team, specifically someone with a strong background in databases and data management. This engineer will eventually join our on-call rotation and share responsibility for end-to-end service delivery and reliability alongside the rest of the Company service delivery team.
